So many times as people progress on their spiritual path, they get so wrapped up in providing, providing, providing; that they stop getting their own experiences. Now there, is nothing wrong with having a great focus in one's work; but when it consumes us to the point that we have no time to get our own experiences, we are in a dangerous zone. There are many reasons for this.
If we are to continue over the long haul sharing our wisdom with others, then it becomes important to keep learning, connecting, and experiencing for ourselves. New layers unfold as we do this; and the more experiences that we provide ourselves with, the more we will have to share with others. Experiences, can even be in everyday things. I have had some great stories to share about life changing experiences for people; just by taking care of my every day life.
The key with this was being present with what was happening all around me and not just honed in on my own work. However, it is the days where I shut down the computer and don't even get online; and just go out and be in the world. Where I go and connect with nature, or maybe take a leisurely stroll somewhere; or even just taking the time to ask how someone is doing.
Experiences come in so many shapes and forms; but to get them, we need to be present in the moment. This
is where the memories are made; at least one of the spaces. It is in attentiveness and compassion to what is happening in the moment that the dots connect, an experience unfolds new layers of understanding and awareness, and we create a story to be shared.
