I grew up in NY. I left with my folks at 13 to live in So Califormia. On 9/11 I had started a new job as a marriage family therapist at the County of Orange. I was driving to pick up my car at the dealership after a maintenance issue. I remember thinking when I heard on the radio, "The Pentagon has been hit" that it was a radio mystery theater brought back as in the old days'. I pulled into the dealer watching everyone staring at the mounted TV's with their mouths wide open. The rest is history. The amazing part is...years later I reconnected through FB to my classmates and began regular visits to NYC after 30+ years. One particular visit my friend and I met up with a Port Authority employee whose entire family helped as First Responders at Ground Zero. This kind gentlemen took us to the entire grounds and buildings that stand today including the Occulus. He gave the entire experience first hand and when he brought us to the fountains, he asked us to let our Spirit be drawn to one name on the memorial. I did and took a picture of one gentleman's name and posted it to FB. I chose out 2900 people my close friend from childhood's male friend she had lost in 9/11. She flipped out seeing what I had posted when I had NO idea of this connection. It was ordained!
