As a businessman with over 35 years of experience, including 15 years in his family-owned textile business, Robert has written over 60 published articles and often speaks on the unique interactions of family systems and business dynamics. As a family business advisor he provides guidance to family-owned and closely-held companies in the areas of succession planning, leadership selection and development, corporate governance, organizational culture, and conflict management strategies. Robert received his B.A. in Political Science and Business from Wake Forest University and an M.A. in Organizational Development/Psychology from Vermont College of Norwich University. Since 2001 he has been the Babcock Family Business Fellow in the Wake Forest University Schools of Business. He holds the highest volunteer awards given by both District and Council levels of the Boy Scouts of America and served for many years as a regional director of First Union National Bank. In 1996 Robert founded Family Firm Resources, LLC and has advised and coached dozens of families who share a business or a pool of wealth. He lives in Charlotte, NC.
